If the oil level is rising instead of falling, some diesels can be diluting the engine oil with fuel. A level above the maximum mark can be more concerning than ordinary oil consumption.
How regeneration can add fuel to the oil
Repeated post-injection, used in some DPF regeneration strategies, can contribute to fuel dilution of the engine oil. That route matters especially when regeneration is repeatedly interrupted.
A rising level is not harmless
A rising oil level should be investigated rather than treated as harmless. Interrupted DPF regeneration is one possible route, not a reason to ignore the level.
